The LongLife project aims to improve the reliability of PV power plants with battery systems. This will be achieved by developing degradation and lifetime models for semiconductor components, inverters and battery systems in order to predict the remaining useful life (RUL). Effective PHM solutions and predictive maintenance strategies are to be developed through effective discrete-time condition monitoring. The integration of these solutions and strategies aims to guarantee the availability of PV power plants over a period of 20 years or more and to ensure sustainable economic operation. This helps to increase the attractiveness of investments in PV power plants and thus makes a positive contribution to the energy transition.
