Research Project: Reliability assessment of vehicles

Institute of Machine Components (IMA)

Development and evaluation of an efficient and reliable methodology for reliability assessment based on event-based endurance testing of vehicles

true" ? copyright : '' }

The reliability and lifespan of complete vehicles are crucial quality factors for competing in the global market. Especially in light of increasingly shorter development times, the need for efficient testing methods is becoming more important. The traditional kilometer-based endurance testing results in high time investments and only partially accounts for different stresses. As part of this project, a systematic target value testing approach is being developed, which aims to transition from purely kilometer-based testing to an event-based testing methodology. The goal is to specifically secure relevant events in order to save time and enable more accurate reliability predictions. The project includes following work packages: analysis of relevant events and errors, definition of target values, development of the methodology, validation and integration of reliability forecasts into approval processes.
